Dear Parents and Players,

EUSA-Syracuse age groups will have Blue, Red and Club teams based on the number of players and quality of the players in each age group. The Blue team is the most competitive team in the age group, will train twice a week and play in a more competitive level of leagues and tournaments across the state, region, and nation (based on the age group and level). The Red team will also train twice a week and will be entered into leagues and tournaments appropriate for the level of play for the team. Some age groups will have a Club team, as well, if appropriate. The Club team will train and play in local leagues and/or tournaments based on the appropriate level for the team.
The coaches and directors will be evaluating and ranking each player in order to determine what team is the best fit for each individual player. As players develop physically and technically from the younger ages to their college years, their place on a team may change. All the coaches and directors have seen a player that was placed on a Club level team become a solid Blue team player physically and technically. Throughout the 2011-2012 seasons, players will be able to move from one team to another based on their development and progress.
Age appropriate is not across the board for every team. As a club we would like each of our players to play on age but there are cases where certain players need to be placed in an environment best suited for their development. This will be determined by the coaches and directors. EUSA-Syracuse works with USSF National Staff members that promote these guidelines.
