As an inaugurate member of the United States Soccer Development Academy, Empire United Soccer Academy has been acknowledged as western New York’s
steward for player development. One of Empire United Soccer Academy’s major initiatives is to provide new opportunities to all our members that other area clubs cannot offer.
Our 2010 competition plan will offer enriched team experiences where select teams will unite players from across western New York. This will provide opportunities for players to meet new team mates and coaches and to compete with them at exciting, high level events.
The Empire United Soccer Academy will offer Select Team competitions for some age groups for the upcoming 2010 season.
Arlington, Va. Spring Invitational Tournament
Dates: Boys U11-15, March 5-7, 2010
Girls U11-15, March 12-14, 2010
This tournament will utilize synthetic grass fields located in Arlington and nearby communities. Exclusive use of these fields will allow the tournament to take place in the event of rain or wet ground conditions. The competition format will be 8v8 for U11 and U12, and 11v11 for U13, U14, and U15. Certain age groups will support two teams if the interest and playing level is represented at our tryouts. We have confirmation of participation at this event. All teams are age appropriate, only.
Las Vegas, College Showcase Tournament
Dates: Girls U16-17, March 12-14, 2010
Neusport Football Club hosts this premier tournament, ranked nationally in the top 10 Girls tournaments. One select team per age group will be chosen. We seek acceptance for this event. All teams are age appropriate, only.
WHO:
All players in good standing with Empire USA will be eligible to participate. Team rosters will be comprised of players from the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse/Cortland academies.
TRYOUTS:
Open tryouts will be held on the weekends of Dec 19-20 and Dec 26-27 for most age groups in Rochester at Brighton Sports Zone, 3195 Brighton Henrietta TL Road, Rochester, New York 14623. Players are to wear Empire USA tryout shirts or team jerseys with numbers.

Boys and Girls U11 – 15, Girls U16, U17
Various dates from Dec. 18 through Jan. 10 per posted schedules.
Individual age groups may have alternate times and dates, depending on facility availability and schedule conflicts.
A condensed player registration form is required to be completed before tryouts.
SELECTION:
Players will be selected by Empire USA team coaches with input from the Academy’s Directors of Coaching. If players are not available for tryouts, they will be considered through nominations by their coaches and the Academy’s Directors. All players will tryout at their age appropriate schedule.
NOTIFICATION:
Players chosen to participate on their age group’s Empire USA Select teams will be notified by their team coaches or by e-mail by January 18, 2010.
ACCEPTANCE:
Parents will need to send an email to empireunitedsa@aol.com <mailto:empireunitedsa@aol.com> by January 25, 2010 in order to accept the roster spot for their child.
Although some families will be away during February Break, there will be a training session for each age group at Brighton Sports Zone in Rochester. A team training session schedule will be forthcoming.
There will be a charge of $75 per player to cover the cost of tournament registration and coaches travel. Checks must be made out to Empire United SA and received on or before the February practice. A collection will be made at the training sessions at Brighton Sports Zone.
All participating players and families will be required to stay at the Holiday Inn Arlington. The club has a block of rooms available to accommodate our members. Credit card numbers for the rooms will be taken on or before the February training session.
